The North Wood R-IV Board of Education met April 14 at 6 p.m.
Present at the meeting were: Jarred Brown, Ron Hedrick, Aaron Brooks, Jenna Dunn, Dave Tiefenthaler, Wes Mobray, and David Massengale. Jeff Dodson, J.C. Flores, Mike Manes, Lois Stacy, Nathan Woods, Jr. Rictor, Karla Tiefenthaler, Dallas Kyle, Karen Huff and Kristina Jackson.
• the board unanimously certified election results.
• Mobray and Tiefenthaler were presented with plaques for their service.
• Nathan Woods and Jr. Rictor were sworn in by Board Secretary Jenna Dunn and were distributed copies of the code of ethics.
The board then appointed officers with 6-0 votes with each abstaining from their respective appointment.

• David Massengale – treasurer
• Karla Tiefenthaler and Dallas Kyle addressed the board on the importance of having a good attendance policy;
• the board discussed the MASA conference;
• Dodson gave an update on facilities, informed the board that enrollment was at 199 for K-8 and 17 for PK and that attendance was at 88.7%, informed the board on the success of the preschool and kindergarten screenings, reminded the board that graduation is set for May 12 at 1:30 p.m., and gave an update on the budget, and presented the board a proposal from Kevin Daniel for work on the CSIP plan, which passed unanimously;
• the board also unanimously approved a 7% transfer from Fund 1 to Fund 4;
And MSIP 6 paperwork was distributed;
The board went into closed session from 7:18 p.m. to 7:34 p.m.
The following motions were carried unanimously or unopposed during closed session:
• to accept retirement letters from Carolyn Gresham and Stacy Smith,
• to hire, for the 2022-23 school year, Lois Stacy, Pam Harrell, Shiloh DeRennaux, Mike Manes, Brenda Ball, Janelle Harrison, Danny Kunkel, Greg Diehl, Clowy Kunkel, Jaime Dinger, Kyesha Flores, Carol Herman, Glenyl Leathers, Katlyn Jackson, Jennifer Moss, Ashley Schulke, Tracie Woods, Sue Tucker and Vicki Gorman.
