David Massengale will serve as Master of Ceremonies.
In addition to the pageant, a variety show will be held featuring several acts by Linda Maledy’s Salem Academy of Dance students; Rachel Privett and friends; a comedy skit by Salem Upper Elementary teachers and friends; vocal selections by Miss Salem 2015 Natalie Leathers, a Zumba routine directed by Jackie Sisco, a skit by Salem Middle School students; and a Salem High School Drama Club presentation directed by Alec Conner.
Serving as flower girl is Madison Loquasto, and crown bearer is Wilson Giacomelli. Escorts are Dalton Cook, Marcus Jessen, Texas Nall, and Eric Wood.
Contestants answer questions on stage, and are evaluated through an interview with judges, and their stage appearance.
After being crowned Miss Salem, several appearances are made throughout the year, including business openings and community events, including Rose Holland Trout Derby, Rally in the 100 Acre Wood and the annual Rotary Club Pancake Breakfast.
Proceeds from the annual show go to community projects sponsored by the Cosmopolitan Club.
Winners receive gifts, savings bonds and gift certificates from local merchants. Each contestant also receives a gift and flowers donated by local florists. There is an admission cost.
