Presiding Commissioner Darrell Skiles reported that he spoke with Kelly Sink with the Meramec Regional Planning Commission (MRPC) about the disbursement of American Rescue Plan Act funds, during the County Commission meeting Monday morning at the Dent County Courthouse.
MRPC has been previously contracted to assist the county in ARPA fund-related items.
The commission agreed in a 3-0 decision March 31 to allow $200,000 worth of the county’s ARPA funds to go to the Salem Memorial District Hospital to pay for a new electrical transformer.
Skiles also reminded the commission that there is an MRPC hazard mitigation meeting Tuesday at 1:00 p.m.
District One Commissioner Wes Mobray reported that crews are working on making repairs on some equipment, fixing spots on a bridge on County Road 4220, as well as staying busy with what he called “chasing wash out spots” with the amount of rain the county has been seeing this spring.
District Two Commissioner Gary Larson reported that he has crews making repairs on some equipment as well as replacing the road sign on County Road 2560. Larson also specified that they are investigating a concern regarding a flooded road.
County Clerk Angie Curley reported that she has bills to be approved and that the polls will be open on Election Day from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Also at the meeting Economic Development Director Sally Burbridge presented her monthly report. Notably, one item on her report was the “green space” project in the industrial park. Burbridge reported that Godi’s Excavating, despite the short time-frame and disadvantageous weather, was able to get all of the trees down before the March 31 deadline.
