Serious injuries were reported Wednesday resulting from a one-vehicle crash that occurred on State Route VV four miles west of Montauk, according to an online report of Troop I of the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
A 2003 Pontiac Vibe, driven by Rudy A. Marr, 33, of Licking, was westbound at 4:50 p.m. Wednesday when its operator fell asleep, ran off the south side of the roadway and struck a tree.
Marr and passenger Zachariah T. Ingels-Settles, 28, of Licking, received serious injuries in the crash. Marr was transported to University Hospital in Columbia by Phelps Air Ambulance. Ingels-Settles was transported to Mercy Creve Coeur by Air Evac Air Ambulance.
The Pontiac sustained total damage and was removed from the scene by its owner.
The highway patrol was assisted on the call by the Dent County Sheriff’s Office.
