The Salem Bowling Center hosted Australian professional bowler Jason Belmonte for an event called “Belmo Experience 2023” on Saturday. Fans could bowl with Belmonte, attend a Q&A, get photos and autographs, purchase signed memorabilia, and more.
According to his website, Belmonte, from Orange, New South Wales, Australia, has been bowling all his life. His parents owned the local bowling alley where he said he found who he was meant to be.
Belmonte won his first bowling tournament at four years old. His career has taken him all over the world, where he would win many others.
Belmonte’s career has netted him countless bowling titles all over the world, including 30 Pro Bowling Association (PBA) titles. He is seventh on the PBS’s All-Time list. In 2019, he won the first major of the year, the PBA World Championship. He won the PBA U.S. Open to claim the “super slam,” a title in all five PBA majors, in February 2020.
