On behalf of our Dent County Chapter of Sleep in Heavenly Peace, we would like to thank our entire community for their support and participation in our Community Bed Build on Saturday, Sept. 13. Our SHP bed build was part of an annual SHP event, Bunks Across America, when SHP chapters across the U.S. host a community bed build to make beds for those children in need in our community. ages 3-17 who do not have a bed.

As a new chapter this year, this was our first year to participate, and we are proud and thankful for all of those who helped to build 20 beds! Those 20 beds will help us continue to help the children in our community in need who do not have a bed. Of the more than 300 SHP chapters across the U.S., we were one of 209 chapters who participated. A total of 10,075 beds were built, and there were 12,955 volunteers. Lowes, an SHP corporate sponsor, contributed the funds to purchase the lumber - for every chapter who participated.
