The Rotary Club of Salem welcomed Jan Gott, pharmacist, educated at University Of Missouri and longtime resident of Salem and member of Salem United Methodist Church.
The conversation was about Celebrate Recovery, a nationwide organization that was founded by John Baker in California in 1991. The Salem group was organized in 2024 and has weekly meetings at Salem United Methodist Church.
Celebrate Recovery is for everyone. Do you have hurt, hang-up or habit? Are you struggling with anger, divorce, loss, family dysfunction, food or body image, co-dependency, physical/emotional abuse, chemical, or alcohol abuse or many more?
Celebrate Recovery is a grace-filled community of strugglers who courageously enter a safe and beautiful space to get honest about pain, and the negative way people may see themselves, God, and others. It is a biblically based approach to help attendees achieve long lasting recovery by healing and guidance toward new healthy truths and developing life-giving habits.
Celebrate Recovery is located at Salem United Methodist Church, 801 East Scenic Rivers Boulevard, and can be contacted by calling (573) 729-4551 or emailing at pastorsalemumc@gmail.com.
Celebrate Recovery meets every Thursday. You do not have to have any church affiliation to attend. Just come as you are. Thanks to Rotarian Barry Baugh was given for hosting Celebrate Recovery’s speaker Monday.
