The Phelps County Commission voted unanimously Thursday to declare a State of Emergency effective at 12:01 a.m. Saturday so as to limit the spread of COVID-19. The decision was spurred with news breaking during proceedings that a positive case of COVID-19 was confirmed in neighboring Pulaski County.

By order, all public or private gatherings of more than 50 people are restricted, as are the public from entering, exiting, using or occupying businesses offering on-premises food or beverage consumption such as bars, restaurants and coffeehouses. Delivery, curbside pickup and drive-through operations are authorized with proper social distancing and hygienic protocols being in place.
