Defending champion Blair Oaks grabbed the top seed for the 75th annual St. James Tournament, to be held Jan. 20-25 at St. James High School’s Donati Gym.
The tournament seeding meeting was held Saturday, Jan. 4.
Blair Oaks, 9-2 and currently ranked No. 2 in the Missouri Class 3 state poll, was the No. 1 seed for the St. James Tourney while Sullivan was seeded No. 2, host St. James No. 3, Fatima No. 4, Waynesville No. 5, Rolla No. 6, Salem No. 7 and Licking No. 8.
In first-round games Monday, Jan. 20, Fatima faces Waynesville at 6 p.m. while Blair Oaks plays Licking at 7:30 p.m. In first-round games Tuesday, Jan. 21 Rolla takes on St. James at 6 p.m. while Sullivan meets Salem at 7:30 p.m.
In consolation games Thursday, Jan. 23, the Sullivan/Salem loser plays the St. James/Rolla loser at 6 p.m. while the Blair Oaks/Licking loser meets the Fatima/Waynesville loser at 7:30 p.m.
Friday, Jan. 24 the seventh-place game is scheduled for 5 p.m. Also Jan. 24 the Sullivan/Salem winner plays the St. James/Rolla winner at 6:30 p.m. while the Blair Oaks/Licking winner meets the Fatima/Waynesville winner at 8 p.m. in the semifinals.
Saturday, Jan. 25 has the fifth-place game at 5 p.m., the third-place game at 6:30 p.m. and the championship game at 8 p.m.
Last year Blair Oaks hammered Sullivan 64-35 in the title game while Rolla beat Waynesville in the third-place game.
Prior to last season Rolla had won the previous five St. James Tourney titles.
