Salem had a busy schedule last week, facing Bunker and Potosi in regular-season action and then competing in the annual Licking Classic Saturday.

Salem’s record is now 2-14-2.

Licking Classic

In the Licking event, Salem lost to Licking 26-24, 25-14; lost to Houston 25-20, 25-13; tied with Summersville 18-25, 25-19, and lost to Park Hills Central in straight games. Park Hills Central won the championship.

Against Licking, Shelby Botkin had four blocks, two kills and three digs; Avery Erway nine digs and a kill; Ashton Mink three blocks, two kills and an ace; Shelby Pogue seven digs; and Skyler Klapperich six digs and an ace.

Against Houston, Erway had six kills and four digs; Pogue 11 digs; Klapperich four digs and a kill; Mink two kills, and Botkin three digs.

Against Summersville, Erway had five kills, two blocks and five digs; Pogue six digs; Gotchal two kills, a block and a dig; Audrey Crocker three digs; Botkin seven assists, two digs, one ace and one kill, and Klapperich two aces, two kills and three assists.

• The Lady Tigers lost to Potosi 25-16, 25-15, 25-16 Oct. 7. Botkin had 10 digs, 13 assists, one ace and one block; Erway had 10 digs, five kills and two blocks; Gotchal four kills, two blocks and three digs; Mink five kills and three blocks, and Klapperich three kills, four blocks, two aces and 15 digs.

• Salem hosted Bunker Oct 6, and after winning the opening game 25-15 lost three straight 25-11, 25-20, 25-22. Mink had seven kills, five blocks, one ace and three digs; Malerie Workman 12 digs, three aces and one kill; Makayla Roos four kills, two blocks and two digs; Pogue 14 digs; Klapperich four blocks, three kills, two aces, nine assists and 10 digs, and Erway 12 digs, three aces, nine kills and a block.
