Velma Griffith

Funeral service for Velma Imogene (Nash) Griffith was March 11, 2020 at Wilson Mortuary Chapel, Salem, with Pastor Jerry Beers officiating.

Interment was in the Cedar Grove Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Jeff Edmison, Randy Whitlock, Barry Crowder and Matthew Whitlock. Honorable pallbearer was Phil Bennett.

Mrs. Griffith was born February 7, 1932 in Bunker to Sam and Mary Lou (Watson) Nash. She was the mother of four children. Mrs. Griffith died March 3, 2020 in Cuba at the age of 88 years.

Survivors include her children, Barbara Bennett and husband, Phil, New Bern, North Carolina; Patti Crowder and husband, Barry, Lancaster, South Carolina; Linda Whitlock and husband, Randy, Marengo, Illinois; and Jeff Edmison and wife, Rhonda, Upton, Massachusetts; brother, Sam Nash and wife, Phyllis, Peoria, Illinois; grandchildren, Misty, Sarah, Jennifer, Chad, Natalie, Chelsea, Alyssa, Matthew, Kristi, Joshua, Bridgette; several great-grandchildren; and a host of extended family and friends.

Preceding her in death were her parents; sisters, Alma Jordan, Alice Beers, Nora Bay, Merlene Emory, Mildred Luttrell, Bertie Morgan and Earlene Camden; and brothers, Jessie and Hubert Nash.

Mrs. Griffith was a member of Steelville First Assembly of God.
