Memorial service for Robert “Bob” Ames Massengale, of Jefferson City, will be at 1:30 p.m. October 11, 2020 at First United Methodist Church, Jefferson City. Masks will be required. Arrangements are under the direction of Houser-Millard Funeral Directors, Jefferson City.
Private family interment will be October 12, 2020 in Jamestown, with Full Military Honors.
Mr. Massengale was born January 13, 1933 in St. Louis to George Pierce and Emily Ames Massengale. He died September 3, 2020 at the age of 87 years.
Survivors include his wife, Betty Jo Massengale, Jefferson City; son, David Massengale and wife, Sarah, Salem; daughter, Debra Walker and husband, Cotton, Jefferson City; brother, James Massengale and Tracey Sands, Newberry, California; and grandchildren, Jacquelyn and Quinn Walker, both of Jefferson City; and Orion and Zane Massengale, both of Salem.
Preceding him in death were his parents; brother, George Massengale, Jr.; and nephew, Robin Massengale.
Mr. Massengale served in the United States Army, spending part of his tour in Wurzburg, Germany. He was a member and volunteer for the First United Methodist Church, Jefferson City. Mr. Massengale worked more than 35 years in the Forestry Division of the Missouri Department of Conservation (MDC).
Visitation is 12 noon until time of service October 11, 2020 at First United Methodist Church, Jefferson City.
Memorials may be made in lieu of flowers to the First United Methodist Church, Jefferson City or the University of Missouri Forestry Development Fund.
