Memorial service for John Christian Collins was February 1, 2020 at Wilson Mortuary Chapel, Salem, with Pastor Everett Enloe officiating. The obituary was shared by Pastor Linda Skaggs and the eulogy was ready by Mike Thompson.

Mr. Collins was born November 9, 1972 in Springfield, Illinois to Walter Lee Collins-Garcia and Barbara Ann (Payton) Collins. He was raised by his foster father, Mike Thompson. He married Kathy Young October 22, 1994. They were the parents of four children. Mr. Collins died January 28, 2020 in Rolla at the age of 47 years.
Survivors include his wife, Kathy (Young) Collins, Salem; daughters, Brittany Collins and fiancé, Joe Wilson, Salem; Desiree Collins-Champney, Salem; and Donnel Paulson and husband, Mark, Wisconsin; father, Mike Thompson, Salem; siblings, James Collins, Duncan Collins, Conni Moore, Candice Moore and Lori Lee; grandchildren, Maisie Collins and Amnesty Wilson; and a host of in-laws, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Preceding him in death were his son, Brett Collins; parents, Walter Lee Collins-Garcia and Barbara Collins; brother, Walter “Tiny” Collins; sister, Cynthia Collins; nieces, Christina Collins and Catrina Collins; and nephew, Billy Moore.
Mr. Collins was a member of the House of Prayer.
