Funeral service for Paul “Tooter” Floyd Pryor was March 8, 2020 at Boss Assembly of God Church. Arrangements were under the direction of Wilson Mortuary, Salem. A eulogy was given by Rev. Eddie “Ed” Hawkins and a tribute was given by grandson, Jared Pyatt. Rev. Elvie Hedrick and Jay Hedrick spoke of Tooter and Rev. Paul Davis shared a message.
Music was provided by congregation led by Jim Pryor, Dennis Skiles, Larry Woolf, The Major Family and Mark Mathes.
Interment was in the Boss Cemetery with Full Military Honors.
Pallbearers were Stuart Pryor, Craig Pryor, Drew Whitaker, Kenny Pryor, Jared Pyatt and Nick Pyatt. Honorary pallbearers were Lance Whitaker and Tim Miner.
Mr. Pryor was born November 2, 1925 in Boss to James Solomon and Zola (Davis) Pryor. He married Wanda Woolf August 6, 1948. They were the parents of three children. Mr. Pryor died March 5, 2020 in Salem at the age of 94 years.
Survivors include his children, Denny Pryor and wife, Connie, Salem; Tina Whitaker and husband, Ryan, Salem; and Michelle Pyatt and husband, Jerry, Eureka; grandchildren, Stuart Pryor and wife, Amber; Craig Pryor and wife, Rena; Drew Whitaker and wife, Shonda; Lance Whitaker and Shannon; Jared Pyatt and wife, Amy; and Nick Pyatt and wife, Lindsey; great-grandchildren, Annabelle, Caroline, Luke, Jack and Olivia Pryor; Mackenzie, Bayleigh and Penelope Whitaker; and Tyson, Finley, Owen and Avery Pyatt; sister, Berniece “Sis” Miner and husband, James; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Preceding him in death were his loving wife, Wanda (Woolf) Pryor; granddaughter, Jessica Whitaker; parents; and brother, Lloyd and wife, Dovie.
Mr. Pryor served in the United States Army and was the Pastor for Boss Assembly Church for 30 years.
