Funeral service for Shirley Jean (Strain) Bergner was December 3, 2020 at Grace Community Church with Pastor Terry Davis officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of Wilson Mortuary, Salem.
Music was provided by pianist, Christy Leathers, soloist, Willie White, and flute duet by Dani Baldwin and Tabi Parks.
Interment was in the Cedar Grove Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Gary Crocker, Curt Baldwin, Loren Wood, Brandon Johnson, Ben Hampton, Mike Parks, Nick Crocker, Cole Crocker, Kyler Baldwin and Asher Parks.
Mrs. Bergner was born August 13, 1940 in Granite City, Illinois, to William Clay and Beatrice Ellen (Jondro) Strain. She married Norman Lee Bergner August 1, 1958. They were the parents of three daughters. Mrs. Bergner died November 28, 2020 in Salem at the age of 80 years.
Survivors include her children, Belinda Crocker and husband, Gary, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; Kathy Wood and husband, Loren, Salem; and Mary Kay Hampton and husband, Ben, Oklahoma City; brother, William “Bill” Strain, Salem; brother-in-law, David Bergner and wife, Sharon, Salem; grandchildren, Nick Crocker and wife, Amanda; Dani Baldwin and husband, Curt; Tabi Parks and husband, Mike, all of Salem; and Ryleigh Johnson and husband, Brandon, Oklahoma City; honorary granddaughter, Alexa Hampton; great-grandchildren, Hailey Baldwin, Khloe Baldwin, Cole Crocker, Kyler Baldwin, Rue Crocker, and Asher Parks; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Preceding her in death were her husband; parents; and brother, Tom Strain.
Mrs. Bergner was a long-time member of Grace Community Church and involved in nursing home ministries and “Young at Heart.”
