George Gorman

Funeral service for George Marion Gorman was January 13, 2020 at Wilson Mortuary Chapel, Salem, with Richard LaBrash Sr. officiating.

Interment was in the Patterson Cemetery, with military honors provided by the United States Army and American Legion Post 99.

Pallbearers were Rick "Tiny" Gorman, Gene Shaw, Brian Hearn, Loyde Braidlow, Eugene Piatt, Micky Fisher and Ethan Piatt. Honorary pallbearers were his grandsons, Kenneth Brooks and Kenny Wells.

Mr. Gorman was born June 5, 1941 in Montauk to James Asa and Etta Mae (Nelson) Gorman. Mr. Gorman died January 9, 2020 in Salem at the age of 78 years.

Survivors include Christene, of the home; children, Becky Cook and husband Greg, Belle; Vickie Branson and husband Tim, Belle; John Gorman and wife LaDonna, Geary, Oklahoma; Melissa Mahurin and Gene Shaw, Salem; Carla Fisher and husband Micky, Watonga, Oklahoma; Sandy Edsall, Watonga; and Etta Phillips and Brian Hearn, Salem; siblings, Mary Etta Rinne, Max Roy Gorman and wife, Trudy; Shirley Moser and husband, John; and Nancy James; 17 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Preceding him in death were his parents; sons-in-law, Roger Mahurin, Steve Edsall and Scott Cook; grandson, Trace Cook; and brothers-in-law, Bob Rinne and Rick James.

Mr. Gorman served in the United States Army and earned many decorations, medals, ribbons and awards.
