A City of Salem Utility Committee meeting has been called for 6 p.m. tonight at council chambers in the old City Hall building, according to a release sent to The Salem News 5:15 p.m. Friday.
The meeting will be held prior to the 7 p.m. regular meeting of the board of aldermen.
The only item on the utility committee agenda is billing cycle options. The meeting was called by alderman and utility board chairman Shawn Bolerjack.
On the agenda for the aldermen meeting are:
• Marty Anderson is on the list of Hearing of Persons to discuss an electric bill, while Heather Johnson will speak about a request for street closure for Farm Day.
• Bids for Fourth of July fireworks and a biochemical oxygen demand incubator.
• A total of 11 resolutions to allow the mayor to execute agreements. Among those are agreements with Dent County Commons to lease the property for fireworks; a transportation project between the city and Department of Transportation for improved pedestrian facilities along Fourth Street between Iron and Washington streets; with Exceleron Software to allow customers to pay by credit, debit and check; and a resolution to resume utility penalties and disconnect for non-payment.
