A Salem man faces a felony charge in connection to allegedly sending pornography to a minor, according to documents filed in circuit court.

Jackie Light, 60, is charged with one felony count of first-degree harassment and one misdemeanor count of furnishing pornographic material to a minor. Light was incarcerated in the Dent County Jail with no bond issued.

An investigation begun Nov. 25 by the Dent County Sheriff’s Office determined a Facebook account associated with Light used its messenger service to send explicit pictures and videos to a 16-year-old female subject living in Dent County, according to the case’s probable cause report. The report states accompanying the pornography were solicitations from Light asking the female subject to engage in sex acts with him. It details several messages were sent by the female subject asking Light to stop, and that she blocked Light to prevent further messaging.

During a Nov. 26 interview at the sheriff’s office the report states Light admitted to sending the female subject pornographic messages. A subsequent search of his laptop found a saved explicit picture sent to the female subject as well as numerous other images and videos of pornography.

The report concludes that Light is a convicted felon and currently out on bond for a separate charge of first-degree harassment.
