A St. Charles man will serve 10 years in the Missouri Department of Corrections after pleading guilty Feb. 7 to possession of methamphetamine, according to a press release from the Dent County Prosecutor’s Office.
Richard Kneib, 29, entered the plea on the eve of a March jury trial scheduled in Iron County. He received the sentence from Judge Megan Seay during a following sentencing hearing. Prosecutor Andrew M. Curley represented the state.
On May 18, 2018, Kneib was pulled over in the 37000 block of Highway 72 after law enforcement was alerted to suspicious activity, according to the case’s probable cause report. The Salem Police Department’s canine subsequently alerted to the presence of narcotics and a search of the vehicle found approximately 90 grams of methamphetamine located in the rear passenger search behind the driver.
