Injuries were reported Feb. 8 resulting from a one-vehicle crash that occurred on Highway 72 seven miles outside Salem, according to an online report of Troop I of the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

A 2009 Chevrolet Silverado, driven by Hilton D. Sewell, 18, of Salem, was eastbound at 5 p.m. Feb. 8 when it began to skid, crossed the center line, traveled off the left side of the roadway and struck a tree.

Sewell received minor injuries and was transported to Salem Memorial District Hospital via Salem Ambulance.

The Chevrolet sustained moderate damage and was removed from the scene by Whitakers Towing.
