Details concerning the identities and official cause of death in the case of the two bodies found at the Dent County Commons on Tuesday are still to come.
As previously reported by The Salem News, the body of a deceased male was found Tuesday inside an RV at the Dent County Commons. A hose connecting the RV’s tailpipe to the interior of the vehicle was also located along with a suicide note inside.
While investigating the scene the body of a deceased female was also found wrapped in bedding inside the RV. Sheriff Bob Wells and Coroner Gina White reported the woman appeared to have been dead for several weeks longer than the male.
Deputy Dent County Coroner Ben Pursifull reported to The Salem News on Thursday that investigators are still attempting to positively identify the female through dental records. The male subject has been identified, but Pursifull said that information is being withheld until an investigation by the Boone County Medical Examiner’s Office has concluded.
A cause of death for each subject is also pending and will be determined by pathologists in Columbia. Pursifull said all pertinent information concerning the case will be reported as soon as possible.
“This is a very unique case and it has created a very unique set of difficulties which must be overcome,” Pursifull concluded.
Sheriff Wells reports the RV arrived at the Dent County Commons Monday evening and was on the property less than 24 hours before the deaths were discovered. He added the subjects did not appear to be locals and evidence indicated they were from out of state.
