A Salem man was injured Wednesday resulting from a two-vehicle crash on Interstate 44 in Phelps County, according to an online report of Troop I of the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

A 2016 Chevrolet Express, driven by Timothy G. Hance, 32, of Salem, was westbound at 9:13 a.m. Wednesday merging onto I-44 at the 189.8 mile marker when a 2007 Buick Lucerne, driven by Leo R. Bogue, 82, of Cuba, attempted to avoid the Chevrolet, traveled off the left side of the roadway, overcorrected and struck the rear of the Chevrolet.

Hance received minor injuries and was transported to Phelps Health via EMS.

Both vehicles sustained total damage. The Buick was removed from the scene by Miles & Son Towing. The Chevrolet was removed by Big Boys Towing.
