In spite of the pandemic, Mid-Ozark CASA welcomed five newly-trained volunteers to serve as advocates for abused and neglected children in Missouri’s 42nd Judicial Circuit, which includes Crawford, Dent, Iron, Reynolds and Wayne counties. The new Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) have made a commitment to “speak up” for these vulnerable children to ensure their needs are being met until they find a permanent, safe and nurturing home.

Recently sworn in by 42nd Circuit Presiding Judge Megan Seay were Andrea Hafer, Boss; Dauphine “Thumper” Bonham, Sullivan; Connie Tinker, Steelville; Connie Dildine, Cuba; and Allison Blacksher, Cuba.

Mid-Ozark CASA, a local non-profit organization is part of a nationwide network of community-based non-profit programs that recruit, screen, train and supervise volunteers to “Speak Up for a Child.” Mid-Ozark currently has children waiting for a CASA in all five counties.
