Salem moved to 3-0 on the young season by defeating Mountain View Thursday and Houston Friday in a makeup match that was postponed due to the weather.

“The tennis team continues to play very well,” said coach William Hubbs. “The team has worked really hard, and so far we have managed to defeat tough opponents. Each of the first three teams we have played will be part of our district tournament this year, and we have put ourselves in a very good position for a high seed.”

Emily Moser collected two wins versus Mountain View and Houston to give her 25 career wins, the most female victories in team history. She passes Sara Barton.

“Emily has to play during the boys season (Salem does not offer girls tennis in the fall), and she has worked very hard to earn her spot on the varsity over the last four years,” Hubbs said. “Emily is an excellent player.”

Matt Sirois won 8-0 and 8-2; Josh Plank 8-2, 8-3; Jackson Keene 8-1, did not play; Dylon Enloe DNP, 8-3; Gabe Morton DNP, 8-0; Moser 8-2, 8-0; Casey Davison 8-1, 8-1 and Brody Yohai 8-2.

In doubles, Matt/Jackson 8-1, DNP; Matt/Cody Moore DNP, 8-1; Josh/Casey 8-1, 8-3; Emily/Cody 8-2, DNP; Emily/Dylon DNP, 8-1; Brody/Casey 8-3, DNP.
