Funeral service for Madeline Virginia (Jordan) Houston Gordon, of Bunker, was June 15, 2019 at Bunker Tabernacle, Bunker, with Pastor Dennis Burns officiating.
Interment was in the Greeley Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Tommy Roney, Anthony Houston, B J Houston, Michael Roney, Christian Jordan and Skyler Knight.
Mrs. Gordon was born September 10, 1926 in Bunker to John and Mexico (Reese) Jordan. Mrs. Gordon died June 13, 2019 in Bunker at the age of 92 years.
Survivors include her husband, Paul Gordon, Bunker; children, William Houston, Mocksville, North Carolina, Milton Houston and wife, Dina, Salem; Johnny Houston and wife, Brenda, Enid, Oklahoma; Kathy Reed, Bunker; Shirley Smith, Enid; Ron Houston and wife, Dena, Rolla; and Jackie Houston, Bunker; stepdaughter, Patricia Whitten, Selmer, Tennessee; 13 grandchildren; seven step-grandchildren; and a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Preceding her in death were her parents; husbands, Mancel Houston, and Arnold “Pete” Gordon; brothers, Ira, Elzie and Ed Jordan; sisters, Ethel Martin, Alma Mayfield, Bessie Estep and Myrtle Bibble; special niece, Dean Miner; daughter-in-law, Lisa Houston; son-in-law, Don Reed; grandson, Joey Reed; step-sons, O'Neil and Tommy Houston.
Mrs. Gordon was a longtime member of the Little Vine United Baptist Church. She worked for the US Forestry Department and for the Missouri Department of Conservation, and she was also a Police Woman for the City of Bunker.
