See You at the Pole, a global day of student prayer, is planned for Wednesday.
The event started in 1990 as a grass roots movement with 10 students praying at their schools. Millions of students now participate in the event, held annually on the fourth Wednesday in September.
Salem High School’s See You at the Pole will be held 7:30 a.m. Wednesday.
The theme of this year’s international event is If My People Pray, modeled after 2 Chronicles 7:14. “If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.”
New Harmony Church will host guest speaker Brody Holloway Wednesday evening at 6:30 p.m. for a student ministry event.
Holloway is the cofounder and executive director of Snowbird Wilderness Outfitters in Andrews, North Carolina. The ministry has trained and ministered to more than 100,000 high school and college students through its programs, conferences, camps and retreats.
There will be games, free ice cream, friendship and door prizes, including Apple AirPods.
The church is located on Highway 32 West, Salem.
