An alumni flag football game was held Saturday evening at the Salem High School football field, immediately following the Blue/White Scrimmage of the current Tiger team.
Over 30 former players participated, including several from the late 90s and early 2000s when Salem had some of the best seasons in its 60 years.
Jokes of old knees, muscle loss, and weight changes were plentiful.
Running a continuous clock in four, 12-minute quarters, the odd vs. even graduation years left it all on the field, ultimately calling a tie at 21-21.
Coach Dylan Wyrick addressed the teams after the game at the 50-yard line. Talks of another game next year are already in the works.
Although the playing stamina may not be the same for most on the field, the voices rang out for “Salem will roll” at the conclusion.
