The American Legion Post will play host to the annual Smokin’ Hot Veterans Rib Cook-off again this year.

Everyone is invited to attend the seventh-annual event, with dinner being served around 5 p.m. following the judging portion of the competition. A dinner plate includes a half slab of ribs, two sides, bread, and dessert for $15. A two-rib plate is available for $5.

Contestants have two categories to enter this year. A wet rub or dry rub category is available. An entry fee is required for each entry. Trophies, aprons, and cash pay-outs are awarded in each category for individual and commercial winners. Ribs are supplied by the Sons of the American Legion; no outside meat is allowed.

Judging begins at 3 p.m.
