According to reports received from the Salem Police Department:

• A vehicle was stopped for a traffic violation at approximately 6:18 p.m. Sept. 28. Investigation of the stop led to the arrest of a 21-year-old Bunker male for possession of marijuana and on two active fugitive arrest warrants from the City of Rolla and Phelps County. The suspect was issued a summons to appear in court and incarcerated pending extradition.

• The School Resource Officer was contacted reference a student with a nicotine product at 10:30 a.m. Sept. 30. Investigation of the report revealed a 15-year-old Salem male juvenile was in possession of and using a vapor product to take in nicotine. The juvenile was detained and later released to a parent. The report will be forwarded to the Juvenile Office.

• An officer was contacted at the Salem Police department at 12:08 p.m. Sept. 30 reference a stolen license plate. Investigation of the report revealed person(s) unknown took the license plate off of a bus owned by Salem Head Start that was parked in the 1400 block of South Wines. The report is under investigation.

• An officer was contacted at the Salem Police Department at 9:48 a.m. Oct. 1 reference a vehicle theft. Investigation of the report revealed person(s) unknown took a black 2008 Nissan Altima valued at $3,500 from a parking lot at Jackson and Highway 32. The vehicle was later located at the Rent One parking lot on Washington. The report is under investigation.

• The School Resource Officer was contacted reference a student in possession of alcohol and tobacco at 11 a.m. Oct. 2. Investigation of the report revealed a 15-year-old Salem female was in possession of alcohol and tobacco. The suspect was detained and later released to a parent. The report will be forwarded to the Juvenile Office.

• An officer was contacted at the Salem Police Department reference a sexual assault at 6:42 p.m. Oct. 2. Investigation of the report revealed a 21-year-old St. Robert female had reported a sexual assault that took place at the Salem Treatment Center located at Third and Grand. The report is under investigation.

• An officer was dispatched to the City of Salem Administration Building located at Fourth and Iron at 11:57 p.m. Oct. 2 reference a decorative scarecrow in front of the building that had been set on fire. Investigation of the report revealed individuals set the scarecrow, valued at $250, on fire and left the area. The report and video surveillance is under investigation.
